Brother Marcus A. Chanay, PhD. a native of Pine Bluff, Arkansas has over 22 years in both the corporate and education arenas. Dr. Chanay is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff where he received his bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication with minors in English and Business, his master’s degree in Education Administration and Supervision from Jackson State University and his Doctor of Philosophy in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University. Dr. Chanay is very active in several professional and civic organizations which include National Association of Student Affairs Professionals, Association of Student Judicial Affairs, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, 100 Black Men, Inc. of Jackson, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. (Mu Sigma Chapter), also he is the Immediate Past State Director and is currently the Southern Region Director of Education for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. Dr. Chanay is also a member of National Pan-Hellenic Council’s Collegiate Committee, the Metro Jackson Chamber of Commerce, the American Cancer Society Leadership Council Board, and the Cade Development Foundation Board. Dr. Chanay is an active member of Cade Chapel Missionary Baptist Church where he is Chairman of the Trustee Board, President of the Laymen’s Association, member of the finance committee and Sunday school teacher. Dr. Chanay is currently the Associate Vice President/Chief Student Affairs Officer for the Division of Student Life at Jackson State University. Dr. Chanay’s philosophy is “Tomorrow’s Success Is Founded on Today’s Preparation”
