About the Academy
The International Leadership Academy (ILA), adopted by the General Board of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. on February 16, 2008 in response the 2007 Conclave mandate to establish the Leadership Academy. ILA is an organization dedicated to leadership development. Using research, theoretical, and practical experiences, the ILA promotes leadership through a professionally-supported network to develop leadership skills of individuals. The Leadership Development program will assist individuals in thinking proactively and provocatively, developing problem-solving skills, and respecting diversity of approaches to achieve their highest potential.
The scope of the activities of the International Leadership Academy (ILA) encompasses four leadership development programs: Phi Beta Sigma Leadership Development, Student Leadership Development, Professional and Career Development, and Organization and Civic Engagement. The ILA will adopt a continuous improvement approach of feedback analysis, reevaluation, and redirection, to achieve confidence and leadership competency in all engagements.
